The “T” block stands for temperance, a word or even an action promoting restraint and self-control. The Women’s Christian Temperance Union (WCTU), organized in 1873, crusaded against the over indulgence of spirits; hoping this would lead to a safer and more peaceful life. Truly, the goal must have been to create a better world for voiceless children and women everywhere. This quilt is an expression of thanks to all women, past, present and future, that fight for these rights.
