In the United States the First Ladies have the privilege to choose the china tea service used in the White House. Up until 1918 the china usually came from France. Edith Wilson, wife of President Woodrow Wilson, was the first ‘First Lady’ to order American-made china for use in the White House. It came from Lenox in Trenton, New Jersey.
